PARTNERS

The new international consortium combines scientific research advances with the technological and commercial expertise of leading industrial partners, supported by European funding.

RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT

The University of Valencia (UVEG), is the SEAL-HYDROGEN’s project coordinator. Being a multidisciplinary institution with over 525 years of history, is recognized for its expertise and commitment in research, technology transfer and innovation.

Through its Office for the Transfer of Research Results, UVEG facilitates the commercialization of academic projects, covering everything from patenting to the creation of spin-offs research from patenting to the creation of spin-offs.

Their participation in European initiatives such as Horizon Europe promotes collaboration with universities, research centers, and industries, reinforcing their impact in the scientific and technological fields.

It holds more than 200 patents and over 500 research groups, making it a leading institution among national universities. It is the third academic center of higher education in Spain in terms of citations of scientific articles and highly cited articles, according to the Essential Science Indicators (ESI) database, which reflects its contribution to the advancement of knowledge and its leadership in the academic community.

The Helmholtz Institute Erlangen-Nürnberg for Renewable Energy (HI ERN) investigates and develops material- and process-based solutions for a climate-neutral, sustainable, and cost-effective utilization of renewable energies.

The institute works on the structural and functional characterization, modeling, and processing of materials relevant to hydrogen and solar technology. The common goal is the understanding of structure-performance-process relationship on the mesoscale.

INDUSTRIAL PARTNERS

Matteco, a spin-off from the University of Valencia (UV), is a materials technology company focused on high-performance catalysts and electrodes for Alkaline and AEM electrolysis to enable more cost effective green hydrogen production.

The company was founded in 2023 by Iker Marcaide and Gonzalo Abellán, co-inventor of the patent and principal investigator of the 2D-Chem research group in materials at the Institute of Molecular Science (ICMol).
The HORIBA Group of worldwide companies provides an extensive array of instruments and systems for applications ranging from automotive R&D, process and environmental monitoring, in-vitro medical diagnostics, semiconductor manufacturing and metrology, to a broad range of scientific R&D and QC measurements.
Siemens Energy is a global leader in energy technology. The group operates across the whole energy landscape. From conventional to renewable power, from grid technology to storage to electrifying complex industrial processes.

Its mission is to support companies and countries with what they need to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and make energy reliable, affordable, and more sustainable.
